The best time to sell your house is any time you want or need to.
From October to February, there are fewer houses, but that means less competition with your house. There are fewer buyers, but they are SERIOUS buyers.
From March to September there are more houses, but there are also more buyers.
Either way - YOU WIN!
BTW - the "spring market" typically starts the Monday after the Superbowl (usually the second week of February).
And if you live by the academic calendar and want to be moved in before the next school year starts, here are some dates to help you plan.
January 1 - March 1
